Luxair has recently broadened its flight offerings by introducing direct services from Luxembourg to the capitals of Finland and Scotland, namely Helsinki and Edinburgh. This development aims to provide travelers with more seamless connections to Northern Europe. The service to Helsinki commenced on July 2, followed by the Edinburgh route, which began on July 3. Both flights are scheduled twice weekly, with Helsinki flights available on Mondays and Thursdays, and the Edinburgh flights on Mondays and Fridays.
The airline has acknowledged that both Helsinki and Edinburgh have been frequently requested destinations by its passengers, drawing interest from both business and leisure travelers. This strong demand has prompted Luxair to include these routes in its expansion plans. The introduction of these flights is a key component of the airline’s broader growth strategy, which is also supported by its ongoing fleet renewal efforts.
As part of the expansion, Luxair plans to roll out a total of nine new routes by 2026, which will boost its network to reach 101 destinations. The addition of Helsinki and Edinburgh is a significant step in this plan, enhancing connectivity between Luxembourg and these prominent European cities.
