Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has unveiled plans to introduce a €2,500 bonus for workers under 30, a key feature of the government’s proposed 2027 budget package amounting to €26 billion. This initiative, announced following a cabinet meeting, is designed to bolster youth employment and retain talent within the country.

The proposed bonus would be subject to a minimal 1% tax and is intended to provide financial support to young workers entering the job market. It can be distributed either as a lump sum or in 12 monthly installments, offering flexibility to recipients. Meloni emphasized that the measure is part of a broader strategy to ensure young Italians have promising career prospects at home, reducing the need to seek opportunities abroad.

By facilitating a supportive environment for young professionals, the Italian government aims to address existing employment challenges and strengthen the national workforce. This initiative aligns with efforts to retain talent and promote economic stability by investing in the younger generation’s future within Italy.

Prime Minister Meloni highlighted the government’s commitment to nurturing young workers, ensuring they feel valued and supported in their professional journeys. The proposed bonus is a strategic component of Italy’s ongoing efforts to enhance employment rates and stimulate economic growth through targeted fiscal policies.
